Learnings from Gamification

We took a UX-led approach, marrying interactive interfaces with a gamified experience, so Shoppix would be fun and worthwhile to participants, and of real business value to Kantar.

Panel participants easily register and can start uploading data in the form of their shopping receipts. The apps with powerful image processing capabilities, enabled Android and iOS smartphones to capture receipts of varying size and quality. Image recognition and AI was then deployed to extract the valuable shopper data and enable Kantar to monetise their insights.

Backend services including user authentication and image storage ensure each newly uploaded receipt image instantly updates Kantar’s overall, and ongoing, picture of their panels’ behaviour.
