Finance Manager

Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for a commercially minded and ambitious finance professional to work alongside the Finance Director as the Finance Manager.  The role is challenging and varied with scope for huge autonomy.  You will be solely responsible for the smooth and efficient running of all aspects of the day to day financial operations, ensuring accurate management and financial accounts are produced in line with accounting policies and timetables, and delivering insightful reporting and analysis to the Leadership Team and Directors. This role will work collaboratively with all areas of the business, proactively engaging with and supporting internal and external stakeholders in order to contribute to the delivery of business objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the Management Reporting cycle: produce the monthly P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts and provide detailed insights and recommendations

  • Responsible for all aspects of Project Accounting, including co-ordination of project documentation, administration of the project accounting system (Synergist), timesheet management and utilisation reporting, sales invoicing, revenue recognition and credit control

  • Process supplier invoices and prepare payment runs

  • Process staff expense claims and company credit card expenditure

  • Reconcile bank statements daily and at month end

  • Action and reconcile accruals, prepayments, depreciation and other reconciliations at month end

  • Assist with the preparation of statutory accounts, including liaising with external auditors

  • Part of the annual budgeting process and responsible for regular reforecasting

  • Prepare quarterly VAT returns, EC Sales List, ONS data

  • Process monthly payroll, benefits and pensions

  • Deputise for the Finance Director when necessary
