Role Overview

The Analytics & Optimisation Lead is responsible for leading Candyspace’s analytics, insight and experimentation offer across client programmes. The role exists to help clients make better digital decisions, create stronger customer experiences and drive measurable improvement through a structured, evidence led approach to optimisation.

Working across strategy, insight and delivery, the Analytics & Optimisation Lead brings together behavioural data, qualitative understanding, experimentation and business context to identify where the biggest opportunities lie and how to act on them. They advise clients on measurement, testing strategy, tooling and operating models, while partnering closely with UX, design and technical teams to turn opportunities into practical outcomes.

As a senior member of the Experience team, this role also helps grow Candyspace’s optimisation capability more broadly, contributing to pitches, shaping propositions, improving ways of working and raising the quality of experimentation practice across the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data collection: Own the measurement and tracking approach across client products, ensuring data is collected accurately, issues are identified quickly, and implementations are robust enough to support confident optimisation decisions.

  • Data presentation: Translate complex datasets into clear, compelling outputs that help clients and internal teams understand performance, spot patterns and act on insight.

  • Interpreting results: Analyse user behaviour and performance data to uncover what is driving outcomes, connect findings to business goals, and turn evidence into clear recommendations and next steps.

  • Testing strategy: Define KPI frameworks, optimisation roadmaps and testing strategies that focus effort on the highest value opportunities and align experimentation activity to client objectives.

  • Experimentation: Lead the design, delivery and evaluation of experiments across A/B testing, segmentation and personalisation, ensuring strong hypotheses, sound methodology and meaningful learning.

  • Tools: Guide the selection, application and evolution of analytics and experimentation tools, balancing capability, feasibility and commercial value for both clients and Candyspace. Experience is required using Optimizely, Dynamic Yield & VWO.

  • Qualitative insights: Combine quantitative evidence with qualitative insight to build a fuller understanding of customer behaviour, strengthen recommendations and shape more effective optimisation opportunities.

  • Client meetings: Lead client discussions on insight and optimisation with confidence, presenting a clear point of view, building trust and challenging constructively where needed.

  • New business: Lead the optimisation and experimentation contribution to new business activity, shaping persuasive pitch responses, defining credible programme approaches, and helping clients see the strategic and commercial value of continuous optimisation.

  • Strategy: Advise clients on experimentation strategy, helping them define the right approach, operating model and toolset to match their business goals, digital maturity and growth ambitions.

Person Profile:
  • Naturally curious and motivated by understanding what drives customer behaviour, performance and growth.
  • Passionate about optimisation, experimentation and using evidence to improve digital experiences in meaningful ways.
  • Proactive and self motivated, with a strong sense of ownership and a desire to make a visible difference.
  • Ambitious and excited by the opportunity to help shape and grow Candyspace’s optimisation offer.
  • Collaborative and positive in how they work, with a team first mindset and a willingness to support others.
  • Confident in communicating with clients and colleagues, able to bring clarity, build trust and challenge constructively.
  • Commercially aware, with good judgement and an instinct for balancing customer needs, business goals and delivery realities.
  • Invested in raising standards, sharing knowledge and contributing beyond the immediate remit of the role.
  • Adaptable and resilient, comfortable working in a fast moving environment across multiple priorities.
  • Keen to keep learning, improving and grow with the role over time.
