Candyspace are working with Quadrille to create engaging book applications that transform traditional content to a fully interactive experience. We converted a student cookbook “From Pasta to Pancakes – the ultimate student cookbook” for Quadrille’s maiden voyage into the world of apps.

Students are used to digital content and we could create a few easy features that really brought the book (and cooking) to life. One feature is called the ‘shopping list builder’ where the student selects a recipe, and the app creates a complete ingredient list that’s ready to be texted or emailed to yourself (or someone else).

Before you get started, there is an entire section describing basic equipment and the ABC’s of good food hygiene. While you’re cooking, the application can instruct you when to start the next stage of the recipe so that everything comes together perfectly at the same time. After you make the meal, you can socialise the recipe on Twitter, Facebook or email.
